If you want to cook bacon in the oven, there are a few tricks that you can use. The first step is to make sure that your oven is cold and not preheated. The slow heat will render out most of the fat in the bacon, making it super crispy. After cooking the bacon, you should drain off the excess grease and store the bacon grease in a mason jar. This way, you can use it when making other dishes in the future.
When cooking bacon in the oven, first line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Then, place the bacon on the sheet in one layer, keeping them separated. Do not overlap pieces, as they won’t crisp up properly. Cook the bacon for around 18 to 20 minutes, depending on the thickness. To ensure the bacon is cooked evenly, turn it over every 10 minutes or so and rotate the shelves halfway through the cooking time.
Next, place the bacon on a sheet pan. Be sure that the pieces are not overlapping each other, so that they cook evenly. Once the bacon is ready, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool. Cooking bacon in the oven is quick and easy! Depending on the type of bacon you choose, it may take anywhere from twenty to thirty minutes. The longer the bacon cooks, the drier it will be.

Despite being a versatile ingredient, bacon is not always the easiest to prepare. It can easily get burnt and have splatters, making clean-up a nightmare. Another benefit of cooking bacon in the oven is that it’s hands-off and results in perfectly crispy, evenly cooked bacon. It also doesn’t take up much space in the oven. You can use the same oven to cook other foods, too.
When you’re done cooking your bacon, you can refrigerate it for up to three months or even longer. Make sure to allow the bacon to completely cool down before freezing. Once it’s ready, transfer it to a freezer bag. Then, you can reheat it in the oven when you want to enjoy it. If you’re worried about clean-up, you can also freeze the bacon before using it.
Another way to cook bacon in the oven is to cut it thinly. The thinner the slices, the faster they’ll cook. Moreover, the drippings from the bacon can be used to prepare a tasty breakfast. For instance, you can prepare bacon and fried eggs with breakfast potatoes. The drippings from the bacon can be used to make breakfast potatoes, fried eggs and other dishes. This way, you’ll have crispy bacon in no time.
Another way to cook bacon in the oven is to use the grease from the pan. Bacon grease is extremely useful when used in another way. If you want to use it later, pour it into a glass airtight container. You can also pour the bacon grease into a disposable can or cup and discard it afterward. If you have leftover bacon, you can store them in the refrigerator for up to five days. To reheat them, you can use the grease from cooking and put them in the microwave or stovetop.
